A humongous number of events and activities were conducted to celebrate the 401st birthday of Rajkot.

  • Cultural & other Shows
    • A light and sound show to depict history and future
      of the city.
    • A LOKDAYRA of prominent artists.
    • A dance competition of college students on 4th July.

  • Run for Rajkot
    • An event with participation of more then 2000 citizens
      of Rajkot.

  • Celebrations with Cakes and Sweets
    • Lacs of Citizens of Rajkot will cook LAPASI on 6th July to celebrate the birthday of Rajkot.
    • A 401 kg cake will be cut by the Rajkot Marketing Yard to celebrate the 401st birthday of the city
      (This would be the biggest ever cake to be cut not only in saurashtra but also in the whole of Gujarat)
  • Lighting - Decorations
    • Responding to the appeal made by Divya Bhaskar, more than 2,00,000 households will light DEEPS during the Rajkot foundation day celebrations.
    • 2,00,000 households will make RANGOLIs or SWASTIKs on floors from 1st to 6th July.
    • Illumination of streets and roads with light series.
    • Illumination of major chowks of Rajkot city.
    • Every government office will be illuminate
      from 1st to 6th July.
    • Large fire works (AATASHBAZEE).
